Bruce Padmore is appointed chairman of new committee

NAACP Illinois State Conference President Donald Jackson has appointed Bruce Padmore, CEO of Leap Frog Solutions, as chairman of the newly formed Technology for Community Committee.

"This new committee is ground breaking in its charter. It's purpose is using technology for strengthening the bonds of community through increased communication, participation, and education.

My business experience in running large international enterprises and lifetime work with non-profits applies directly to this voluntary position. Using the internet effectively is no longer a novelty, it is an essential tool for civic and humanitarian groups to achieve their goals of building a better world for us all.

The cost of technology has decreased, and low cost internet accessibility has increased. With more than 10 million African American and 12 million Hispanic users, it is critical that the NAACP has a coherent web strategy.

To say I am very excited about the new initiatives in planning would be an understatement. We will be definitely be shaking up the old paradigms in the coming year. I think it is going to get a lot of people excited and involved," said Bruce Padmore at the NAACP State Quarterly Meeting.
